 In this cartoon Florida Governor Rick Scott is being depicted as a big liar. Commonly, kids who don't do their homework come up with the lie "my dog ate my homework." Rick Scott is shown saying "The dog ate my campaign promise," basically meaning that the artist feels as though Rick Scott did not follow through with his campaign promise to keep school budgets the same. Instead of keeping school budgets the same, Scott made 3.3billion dollars worth of budget cuts. I believe Rick Scott fooled all the Florida voters. He basically "pulled the whool over their eyes" by promising to not touch Florida schools' budget. All the voters trusted him and therefore elected him into office, not that he is governor voters feel tricked. It was wrong of him to sasy one thing but go completely against his word once he was electeted. |
