In this political cartoon , it illustrates the previous president of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, finally stepping down after 30 long years of dictatorship. The cartoon also shows that someone else is going to be replacing Mubarak's position. Mubarak's facial expression is clearly destroyed and angry because he was forced to step down because of the people of Egypt and it was something that he didn't want to do. The author uses this image to show whats next after Mubarak's presidency. Deng Coy Miel uses metaphor, and imagery to describe the operation of the Egyptians presidency. To finally see that Mubarak finally stepping down after all these years is satisfying. Also there is a sense of freedom to the Egyptians now because they are not monitored under the same rules as they were with Mubarak. The Egyptians now can be democracy and laws within the government. There seems to be an anticipation since there is an anonymous person stepping in to Mubarak's position.
