This cartoon depicts a man who is supposed to be the president of Libya. Libya, like it's Egyptian neighbor, was ruled by a man named Moammar Gadhafi. This man too is power hungry and isn't willing to give up his power without a fight. The cartoon also shows him crushing what would be the citizens of Libya who are protesting because they want a democracy and freedom. The artist, by showing him crushing the protesting citizens, shows that the president is using violence in an attempt to cling to power. Rebellions are usually successful in the past. Uprisings usually happens when there's extreme cause such as a power hungry president. i feel that it is because of the power hungry president, lack of freedom, and the need for a democracy that I must agree with these occurrences. Libya, like Egypt, needed to start rebelling, because personally, a democracy is the only fair government around.
