In this cartoon the scene is in Rush Limbaugh’s radio station. We see that he is currently “On Air” so everything he is saying can be heard by the public. We see a very oversized man with a cigar in his right hand .His lower half has a label that reads LIMBAUGH. In his left hand there is a magazine entitled “Fitness” on the cover we see a front Michelle Obama with the slogan Let’s Move! Limbaugh is looking at the magazine and makes a comment in reference to Michelle’s body “Michelle’s looking a little chunky”. On his back you have an oversized male (but smaller in comparison to Limbaugh) who is wearing a bathing suit with his legs crossed. On the side of his right leg you have to label that reads “DITTOHEADS”. On his radio show Rush Limbaugh made a derogatory comment in reference to Michelle Obama’s body. The cartoonists portray Limbaugh, as a man who is contradictory by using visual imagery, metaphors and burlesque. Here is a man who is unfit and unhealthy making a comment about a woman who is physical in shape. I do support this piece ,I think the whole situation is ironic more than anything. But we are in America ,so each person is entitled to freedom of speech but I sincerely believe that some should really think before they speak.
