This cartoon shows a man in his car at the gas station with a surprised look on his face. On his license plate on the front of his car you will see it says 2011, being the year that we are in and to the right of that is the daily newspaper with the title of "Mideast Uprising" which refers to the predicament in Libya. The bubble states what the driver is thinking “the price of liberty”, while he looks up at the gas price of $5.00 per gallon. Through Margulies’s cartoon, he uses imagery to portray the seriousness of the situation in Libya and how it is affecting the United States. Although, we hold our own name as the United States we often neglect the fact that we rely on our countries to provide us with all our essentials. The predicament in Libya is not your ordinary histrionics, but an actual reality of turmoil. Eventually, if things continue the way they do our price of freedom also known as the gas prices will reach an all time high at $5.00. The situation in Libya is only the beginning of many huge obstacles for America.
