*So the image is refusing to show. I have posted the URL and it is the 11th slide *
In this image one can see a man with a huge smile displaying his collect of Apple products. On the desk there is a computer with the word iMac above it, and a musical device with the word iPod above it. There is a smart phone in his hand with the word iPhone above it and a tablet in his other hand with the word iPad above it. To finish off the image there is a word above the smiling man's head that says iBroke. This is meant to signify that the man is indeed out of money, most probably from spending his money on these four Apple products.
In this cartoon, the artist uses imagery, insinuation and parallelism in order to portray the popularity of Apple products and their addictiveness. Apple has become famous for unveiling amazing technological toys that have a plethora of things they can do. These devices can perform more and more advances feats and Apple shows no signs of stopping. They revolutionized music with the iPod, they made the iPhone a wonderful phone that's practically a mini-computer. The 'iMac' is a stylish version of a computer and who needs a bulky laptop when one can buy a iPad which weighs a whole lot less and now even has a camera. I must agree with the idea that these devices are addicting since they are so entertaining to people. The apps, the Internet surfing, the camera. However these 'iDevices' aren't the cheapest things to get. A third generation iPod started at $200 for 8G. The other 3 devices range higher especially with the higher memory capacity. Not also that, but with Apple unveiling more and more editions of their creations with new aspects every few months anyone is bound to go broke if they must have the latest model. I know I want the new iPod with cameras, but with just a year old 3rd generation iPod, theres no way the wallet is going to cough up another $200 or more dollars for a new one without having to file for bankruptcy. Here lies the truth upon which the cartoon is based. With all these tempting toys from Apple, those who must buy them may just end up 'iBroke'
