In this cartoon, the artist drew Moses coming down Mt. Sinai, but instead of two stone tablets with 10 commandments, he holds in his hands an electronic tablet with 10 apps. Also, spinning-off one of the original 10 commandments, 'Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor', the two middle easterners read, 'Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's E-Reader'. By depicting this, the artist is trying to tell how technology is becoming a new wave, like a religion of sorts, and the tablet is only the beginning. The artist believes that the tablet will be the foundation for future creations in the technological world. In the cartoon 'The first tablet', the artist emphasizes the imperative and helpful aspects of the tablet to the future of the technological world. I agree with the artist because the latest thing to make you part of the ''in'' crowd is to have a tablet. the tablet gives people the capability of doing pretty much anything they want at their fingertips. From surfing the web and updating their Facebook statuses to reading their favorite book, the tablet is capable of anything and is indeed the beginning to the future of electronics.
