In this catoon, there is a Middle Eastern person holding up a sign that says FREEDOM IN THE MIDDLE EAST. The person continues by saying "Aren't you happy for us?" And next to him, is an American guy whose car is taking in gas, but his mind is on the "ding ding dings" of the petrol pump as the price keeps rising and rising. He then says "I'm thinking, I'm thinking," on whether or not to say yes or no to the other guy because of the fact that the prices for gas are just getting incredibly ridiculous by the minute. This cartoon displays how the the American people are blaming the Middle East's chaos for the absurd gas prices in America. Since most of the entire world's gas is situated in the Middle East, we will be the ones most affected by the gas turmoil. Of course the fight for freedom and independence should be supported, for only that may help us retain the gas prices that we once had in prosperous times. If we don't do anything about it now, these insane costs will continue to increase, and along with it, the anarchy that's currently in the Middle East resulting almost every American into not being able to afford paying for gas. This goes to show that America is quite dependent on the oil coming in from the Middle East and looking at this Libya dilemma now, this displays the future barriers that America has yet to face.
