This cartoon portrays the burdens on President Obama's shoulders due to the on going dilemma by Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak. The image presents Obama twice with his inner voice being the devil and the angel confusing him as to which decesion to make. The angel is implying peace stating that he should be behind the people of Egypt who seek freedom and oppurtunity. On the other shoulder the devil is reminding him that if we abdicate the people that once worked with us, dictators who seek harmful ways for their country will no longer trust the US.
The Obama and Egypt cartoon demonastrated the seriousness of the decisions that the President must make. In this case I would have to side with the devil's opinion due to the fact that the angel's request is insufficient in the sense that freedom would only be temporary. No man has the ability to make everyone happy. Keeping an allie would cost less damage to the world and the people of the world. Keeping a country's trust is more critical to keeping a well rounded earth.
