In this image, we can see a man wearing a crown, cowering on top of what appears to be a throne. The crowned man atop of the throne can be assumed to be President Mubarak, the president of Egypt. The president is cowering in fear of a small blue bird with a letter 't' on its chest. This little bird represents the social network of Twitter. The message here is that the Internet and a social network such as Twitter can be used to rally people together for a common cause or goal. Twitter in fact played a major role in the rebellion of the Egyptian people. The government and President Mubarak should very well be wary and terrified of Twitter, as can be seen from the terrified look on the man's face in the image, and the sweat that jumps from his face.
Through the extensive networks of the Internet and social websites the Egyptian people were able communicate to organize rallies, walks, and protests against Mubarak. In my perspective, the president has a very sound reason to fear Twitter. A single tweet can be read by thousands, if not millions of people in as little as a few days. Especially after other forms of media were banned in Egypt, Twitter was the basis of arranging where protests would be held against the long term president. Even journalists reporting back the events to their respective countries made use of Twitter to send information. The Internet has indeed proven to be an invaluable tool; and it stands far more dangerous than anticipated, for a single tweet or post could spark a revolution.
